My first memory :
My friend Swathi and I had taken the Dakshin express from Nagpur to Hyd to write our GRE exam in Hyderabad. Coincidentally Sandeep was also travelling in the same train. ( At that time I hardly knew about him , nothing more than a college mate).
We reached Hyd at the very early hours. Being unsure of our safety at that time of the day when it was still so dark, we asked Sandeep if he would like to come in the same auto as ours. He graciously agreed. While traveling we realised that our destinations were very near by and his drop off was just few houses before ours, so we ended up dropping him first...
I clearly remember it was still dark outside, the time was not more than 5:30 am .. the auto stopped at 62 Durga nagar colony. Sandeep stepped out of the auto , reached the gate and we all saw a graceful lady come by with a big smile. Sandeep greeted her Amma. Definitely she was expecting Sandeep and then she saw us two (my friend and me) in the auto and Sandeep introduced us to her.
I clearly remember her wearing a beautiful green sari . In her welcoming voice she insisted that we should come in and she would make breakfast for us. We were in awe of her warm gesture ... I had never before met someone who would invite two, almost, strangers and make breakfast for them in the wee hours of the morning.
